RCAAN April 2026 Update

Greetings RCAAN Members and followers,

April is here and it’s time for our regular update to help increase your awareness of crucial items that are happening as well as recommending some appropriate actions steps.  Thank you to those who send us items for us to consider including in this update and/or our social media sites.  This is very helpful to us.

Election updates:

Election activities are continually on the horizon.  A minority federal government can result in an election at any time.  Provincially, parties are beginning the process of identifying candidates in constituencies that were lost.  Municipal governments are almost done half their term.  And, byelections are always a possibility.

Individually, we need to be prepared to participate in whatever election activity presents itself.  One way of preparing is to have items we wish to see on potential candidates’ platforms and then use these as negotiating items for them to earn our votes.

For example, a friend of mine shared this:  If a federal election were to be called, I would present to potential candidates this question: “Will you please meet with your National Campaign Manager and explore the possibility of including the following platform planks next national election platform.

• a commitment to introduce legislation protecting pre-born children in the womb,

• a commitment to call for a pause to MAID in Canada until a full review of the damage can be completed,

• a commitment to call for a complete ban on radical sex surgeries on gender confused children,

• a commitment to fix or repeal completely Bill C4, known as the 'conversion therapy bill'

• a commitment to never support or pass legislation that causes harm or death to the citizens of Canada.

Any consideration you and your campaign team would give to these life and death issues would be a positive way to gain my support”

Action:

  • Write out your negotiating platform planks and make a plan as to how you will use these to establish who to vote for.
